Mr. Sharma is a simple and hardworking person. He works in a nearby office and spends his free time caring for his small garden. Every morning, I see him watering the plants and feeding the birds. He often greets everyone with a smile. Whenever someone in our neighbourhood needs help, he tries his best to assist them.
His family is equally friendly. His children are close to my age, so we often play cricket, badminton, or simply chat in the evening. During festivals and family celebrations, we visit each other and exchange sweets. These small moments have made our relationship stronger over time.
What I like most about my neighbour is his respectful and caring nature. He keeps the surroundings clean and encourages others to do the same. Whenever my parents are away, he also keeps an eye on our house.

My Neighbour Essay 300 Words
We stay at Pune. Our flat is in a society, which is situated at the outskirts of the city. Our society has four wings – A, B, C and D.
The name of our society is Paramanand Society. In each wing there are sixteen flats. All the flat owners are very friendly with each other. I am lucky to have good neighbours.
We go to each other’s house. Our front doors are always left open. The next door family is quite big. It is a joint family. The three generations of their family stay happily together.
There is a variety of age groups. We help each other in difficulties. Whenever there is some crisis we feel free to ask for help. We borrow things from each other. My neighbours know all my relatives.
While going out for a tour or shopping, we request them to look after our house, receive our guests and messages. When my grandmother is not well, they help her to go to the doctor. We keep a watch over the unknown visitors and inquire about them.
We attend the birthdays of their children. They also give us gifts. At least four times in a year, we take food together. There is always an exchange of sweets and special dishes.
Sometimes the neighbours are troublesome, especially when their mothers disturb our study-time table and keep on chatting with my parents. Sometimes their fathers keep on unnecessarily interfering with our personal matters.
My Mama is very sober; hence he keeps on asking about money matters. Their sons pass remarks about our visitors. Their visitors and children disturb our rooms, touch and pick-up anything.
However, we have to tolerate this nuisance because they are a great help and good company, in general. It is very difficult to have neighbours like these at villages.
We need to have somebody in emergency. As human beings, we need to have somebody around, as we can’t pull on alone. Whatever neighbours we have, we try to understand each other and manage to keep healthy relations.
My Neighbour Essay 500 Words
A neighbour is someone who lives close to us, but a good neighbour can become much more than just a person living next door. My neighbour, Mr. Patil, is one such person.
He lives with his wife, daughter, and elderly mother in the house beside ours. Our families have known each other for many years, and we share a friendly and respectful relationship.
Mr. Patil is a hardworking and cheerful person. He leaves for work early in the morning and returns home in the evening. Even after a busy day, he spends some time outside his house, looking after his plants and talking with people in the neighbourhood.
He has a small garden filled with colourful flowers, tulsi, and a few vegetable plants. I enjoy seeing him take care of it because he is patient and careful with every plant.
One thing I really appreciate about my neighbour is his helpful nature. If someone needs assistance, he does not hesitate to help. Once, when our water pump stopped working, he helped my father find a local electrician and stayed with him until the problem was fixed.
It was a small act, but it showed how dependable he is. He also reminds children not to throw waste on the road and encourages everyone to keep the surroundings clean.
His family is equally warm and friendly. His daughter is a good friend of mine. We often play badminton in the evening or talk about our school and hobbies. During festivals such as Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Holi, both families visit each other. We exchange sweets, share meals, and spend time laughing together. These simple moments make our neighbourhood feel lively and welcoming.
My neighbour also respects everyone’s privacy and opinions. He does not interfere unnecessarily in other people’s matters. At the same time, he is always available when someone genuinely needs support. This balance makes him easy to trust and comfortable to talk to.
Living next to a kind neighbour has taught me that a peaceful community begins with small acts of care. Greeting people, helping someone in need, keeping the surroundings clean, and respecting others can make a big difference.
I feel lucky to have such a wonderful neighbour. For me, a good neighbour is not simply someone who lives nearby; they are someone who can make an ordinary place feel safe, friendly, and like home.
